What if you could not only visit the Scottish countryside but also feel at home there? Nestled between the gardens of secluded grounds and Loch Etive, this eighteenth century, country house is offering visitors that exact opportunity. This self-serving home away from home is the perfect retreat that allows you to live right in the midst of Scotland’s natural beauty while spending time with friends, family and even your pets. Explore the countryside by day and retreat back to these comfy quarters when you’re finished. It’s got everything you need to feel at home while giving you that distinct feeling of being on vacation too.
Have kids? Bring them along because Bonawe House was made for family fun. We consider ourselves “a natural” when it comes to kids as the landscape has plenty of opportunity for swimming, kayaking and fishing off the pier. Plus, the walks and bike trails add to the property’s natural playground. Want to get out and about with the family too? Check out all of the nearby attractions like the seal sanctuary, beaches, and adventure park. After the whole family has had their fill of fun, head back to cottage for all of the comforts that a home has to offer after a long day of play.
So maybe you’re a parent, but to the four-legged, furry variety of kids. Bontawe House is one of those destinations that you can bring your pets along with confidence. Forget about the kennels or paying your neighbor to feed your cat and let your pets join in on the fun as well. There are gorgeous walks surrounding the grounds which ensure that your dog’s morning bathroom break is just as rewarding for you. And, there are plenty of pubs and eateries around that are pet friendly too! Bring your dog along so you both get a chance to mingle.
The Bonawe House may not be officially registered as suitable for disabled individuals, but don’t let that stop you from embarking on this experience. Right on site are three ground floor cottages, two with no steps and one with a single step that allow for wheelchair access. Cars are able to drive right up to the front doors to cut down on walking time to make things easier for everyone. A disability or a wheelchair shouldn’t stop you from exploring the beauty of the Scottish countryside and we will do everything in our power to make sure of that.
Planning an event, team building weekend or a family getaway? The Bonawe House can accommodate you while giving your event a bit more of an edge than staying in a typical hotel. It’s a destination and an experience all wrapped up in one that will get your group excited about being there, regardless of the reason. There are an assortment of separate cottages which offer privacy during downtime, options for group activities both on the grounds and in the surrounding area and plenty of facilities like lounges and kitchens which make the whole experience more personalized.
