Group Accommodation
Over the years, we have had many different groups staying at Bonawe House. Choirs, Orchestras, The British Kendo Team as well as family groups. We don’t have a dedicated room for groups to meet in, but The Edwardian Wing can be suitable. Groups are welcomed outside the main season when arranged in advance.
Bonawe House is ideal group accommodation in Scotland, whether visiting the area for work, recreation, team building or simply as a family, groups will find everything they need in terms of facilities and space. Eighteenth century Bonawe House has all the inherent charm of an old-fashioned country manor, while at the same time offering groups all the modern cosy comfort of instant hot water, central heating and double-glazing. Group visitors over the years have found Bonawe House to be a warm, welcoming and convenient place to stay, regardless of the purpose of their visit to this beautiful area of Scotland.
Separate Cottages
With a multitude of accommodation options, one of the most popular for group bookings includes our six cottages. All of the cottages are grouped around a central courtyard and they sleep between 2-5 people. Larger groups can book multiple cottages and mix and match numbers, enjoying the benefits of being together in one location yet still with some element of privacy and space.
Although not registered for disabled people, Bonawe House has a lot to offer wheelchair users in terms of accessibility and flexibility. Two of the cottages have flat approaches while also allowing for parking at the front door, so for groups with disabilities, booking either or both cottages could be the ideal solution for your needs.
Group Activities
Oban is a haven for holidaying groups, with numerous activities on offer all year round in both Oban itself and in the surrounding area. For those who are wishing to simply kick back in comfort at their home from home, Bonawe House itself could not be an easier or more convenient environment in which to do it, especially if the weather outside is less than inviting. Books, DVDs, board games, puzzles and jigsaws with local scenes can be enjoyed in front of a living flame fire in any of the guest cottages, or alternatively a walk in the grounds to take in the views of nearby Ben Cruachan and Loch Etive is a rewarding activity in itself.
For those wishing to venture further afield at an easy pace, local bike trails, walks, crabbing, fishing, golf and swimming are all within walking distance.
Facilities
One of the great advantages for groups staying at Bonawe House includes the facilities offered throughout both the cottages and the main house itself. Aside from fully equipped kitchens and open plan lounge areas which are great for groups, Bonawe House also provides a laundry service, Wi-Fi and a local grocery order option, ready on arrival, making group stays that much easier and more convenient.
The Edwardian Wing
Sleeping up to 4 people, this grand and sumptuous wing of the main house is the flagship accommodation of Bonawe House and is very well suited for group meetings depending on availability.
There are a vast number of group visitors to Oban each year. Bonawe House is experienced and flexible in meeting the needs of groups of all kinds and understands that every group requires something different. With plenty to choose from in terms of accommodation options, activities, sightseeing, facilities and more, guests in any number are sure to enjoy their stay.
The separate cottages in conjunction with the Edwardian Wing can allow people to have their own space and meet up when they want to.
There are lots of local activities that can be done from the house.
